With artistic activities and outdoor exploration, this class exposes students to basic drawing concepts with a fun and simplified approach.
9:30–10:30 a.m. (Thursdays)
Centered around engaging discussions, this class investigates the history and philosophy of virtuous art while actively exploring and exercising the gift of inspiration through creative projects.
10:45–11:30 a.m. (Thursdays)
From graphite pencil to charcoal, this class uses various value (black, grey, white) media (the material/mode for an artistic creation) to study essential artistic concepts including form, perspective, composition, and technique.
12:00–1:00 p.m. (Thursdays)
This class explores the expansive world of color theory through various color media (the material/mode for an artistic creation) including color pencils, pastels, and oil paint.
1:10–2:10 p.m. (Thursdays)
From stick-figures and movement to muscle composition and smile lines, this class marvels at God's creation of the human body through drawing exercises, live models, and illustrations from masters such as Bridgman and Civardi. (no nudity)
